Please tell me if you see something missing/incorrect on CU's Ohio page

Lots of media links already, but I easily could've overlooked something. I did, however, purposely leave off radio stations that broadcast right-wing boneheads, a la Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly.

2. Cleveland media info looks right to me
You might consider adding the African-American oriented pubs, though. Smallish circ, but all media is media.

3. So far, so good on Dayton.
Are you including alternative/free weekly papers? Just curious -- they generally skew young and left. If you want, I can look up the contact info on Dayton CityPaper -- let me know. They don't have a website, I don't think, but I'm sure I have a copy around somewhere I could give you the e-mail addresses and/or LTTE address.

I haven't seen a CityBeat in a while, don't know how 'mainstream' (i.e., corporate/right-wing) they've become since we moved up here. If they're not bad, you could include them -- they have a website where LTTEs can be submitted.

6. Pretty much sticking to papers with weblinks
Edited on Sat May-15-04 09:42 PM by Paragon
There's a TON of weeklies with websites in smaller communities that I could've added, but it just didn't seem to fall under "Major Media" to me. Also, another prerequisite ended up being interactivity - in other words, are there links to write letters to the editors, message boards, etc.

I believe there are listings for some of the bigger free weeklies in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland.

8. Actually, Dayton CityPaper now has a web site:
http://www.daytoncitypaper.com/index.php

The "editor" link is a 'mailto' link. Last time I checked, a couple of months ago, there wasn't a website. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to knock one together anymore, though, I guess.

And I hadn't checked Cincinnati or Columbus yet, just ran Dayton because I live here now and am more familiar with the local 'stuff.'

It's a great resource, thanks for the time you put in on it.

AFTER you take that much-needed break.

If you go to the website I mentioned in my previous post:

www.tcnewsnet.com

you'll find weekly newspapers for all the Dayton suburbs and all the information you need for contacts.

That website may be all you need because it links to the suburban newspapers, north, south, east, and west. Whaddya think?

...is Channel 36. Everything looks really good.

We have 2 'talk' stations both RW. WSPD (1370 am) and WCWA (1230 am).
WSPD has 2 local talkshow hosts. Its fun to call up and get on their nerves. If you want any other info on them, let me know

Channel # is fixed.

And I'd just assume not list RW radio stations. If there's a NPR or other worthy Toledo news station, let me know.

WKRC Radio in Cincinnati. www.55krc.com They do broadcast the right wing boneheads, but they have a debate-style morning show with one Dem on Rep. I'd add them.

I don't listen to the morning show. Is it really balanced? The rest of their line-up is who's who of right-wing nut-jobs.

I think I'll leave KRC off the list, if you don't mind. I did link to WLW if you're really itching to listen to a Clear Channel station.

By the way 700 WLW is very right-wing. They just broadcast local right-wing idiots.
