OK fellow Ohioans help me out with Strickland. I am in a hot and heavy debate
about why someone should not sit out the Nov. election, or vote against Strickland.

I argue that Strickland has the same economy to deal with as the rest of the 48. And then I get stuck. Help me out with a few talking points pro Strickland.

I am embarrassed to say, I am having difficulty.

Thank you.

1. He does have his hands tied with a rethug Ohio Senate...
...that continues to legislate against the citizens of Ohio. Most of what is wrong in Ohio a Dem Governor can not fix. As far as Ted goes, when he snuggled up to Hillary that was it for me. He was in office how many months before that. Bobble Head Ted, I call him. I will vote for him but he really has made his own mud hole.

3. "His" electricity bill will provide for a huge proportion of "renewable energy"
Wind, solar, ... the good stuff. The bill passed by a wide margin.

4. Strickland voted against NAFTA, the Bush tax cuts and
the Iraq war and he also has an A rating from the NRA. Kasich voted for all of those and has a F rating from the NRA.

5. Ohio unemployment rate is less than FL, CA, or the national average
Barely less, but less nonetheless.

Florida has been run by Republicans "Jeb" Bush and Charlie Crist

6. Let's see
I don't have the LTTE here to quote, but I read just this week that although we lost lots o' jobs the past four years, we lost less than HALF of what Florida lost. It is brutal to govern in a Recession, especially when your legislature has blocked your actions over and over.

During Strickland's first two years, he had a Republican-controlled legislature that purposely did NOT act on legislation. They let it rot. So what if the people of the state suffered? It's about the power!!!! The second two years the Senate was still Rethuglican ... so they continued to block forward movement.

It may seem rather negative, but remind all the nice folks what it will be like in Ohio when Kasich gets in and eliminates the state income tax. How will the state operate with 40% of its income GONE? People are already in a knot about loss of fire and police protection. Think HALF the numbers there ... and schools shutting across the state ... and roads crumbling, parks closed ... How will they like that?

Strickland is a quiet man, which hurts him in the political arena.

7. GOP money flowing into Ohio like a raging river, pounding the airwaves with negative ads. In the
face of "the scandal" in Cuy. Cty...Dems are toast.

So so depressing.

8. Here's a great letter to the editor in the Akron Beacon Journal ...
showing how "horribly" Ohio is doing, as compared to the Republican-controlled utopia of Florida, which is set up in a way most Republicans claim will make everything sunshine and lollipops ...

Sixth letter, titled "Who's really to blame for the lost jobs?"
