Edwards thinking about endorsing Clinton???
I just read an article saying that Edwards is giving serious consideration to endorsing Clinton because he may think she's a better "fighter" than Barrack Obama and her health plan is closer to his. In my state of Maine she virtually said she'd have Edwards in her cabinet, and she went to his house personally to court his vote. Hard to believe he would consider endorsing her when he was so critical of her, especially of how she takes corporate lobbyist money.

Can any of you North Carolina Obama people somehow get word to Edwards or those around Edwards to urge him to endorse Obama? I also heard that his wife Elizabeth was leaning toward Obama. I would think that Edwards' desire to CHANGE the country dramatically, not "triangulate", and given his distain of corporate lobbying influence would mean that he would NEVER endorse Hillary. What can we do in this situation North Carolina Obama supporters?? It would not be good if Edwards endorsed Hillary.

Thanks and looking forward to your replies.

1. Edwards also critical of Obama
Those of us in NC (I am in Chapel Hill) have problems with Obama. Obama appears to fail the NC state motto: Esse Quam Videri, To be rather to seem.

I supported Edwards and tried to keep an open mind wrt Clinton and Obama. There are too many variants in the Obama life story and in his programms. I personally don't trust him.

I have issues with Clinton, too, I am waiting to decide. Most NC natives would consider it rude and inappropriate to tell him what to do.

It is his decision and we will humbly and respectively accept whatever decision he makes.

BTW a couple of those inconsistencies in the Obama story will probably start causing him a lot of problems over the next month.

2. He may endorse no one, but Obama is the better choice.
This is politics, and having been knee-deep in it for a long time, decisions have to be made if you're going to be in this business. From everything I see, if Edwards does decide to endorse then clearly Obama, on balance, is closer to his positions and overall political worldview. As to concerns regarding Obama's life story, I'm not sure of the "variants" to which you refer. I can say this, I have now been to an Obama event where I was 50 feet from the man. His honesty and candor were refreshing. He went to so far as to tell us that he is not a perfect person and that we might always agree, but that he would always try to do what was right and to tell the truth. -
I generally like the Clintons, but they seem to have come into this thing as though it was their abject right to receive this nomination. Bill should never have gone so negative, and on question upon question I have been disappointed with Hillary's evasive answers. Just the other day she was asked if she would refuse to attend the NBC debate because of the bad comment one of their people made concerning Chelsea, and she simply would not give a specific answer to a simple and specific questions. Trust? I'm very comfortable with Obama's integrity compared to the Clintons. Hillary currently has an unchanged 50% negative favorability rating in the polls. And it is unlikely to improve going forward. She would start a general election with half the country against her. We have to make a decision here. Obama is clearly the better choice against the Republicans in this "change" election. He polls MUCH better among Independents and cross-over Republicans. Most Republicans would see themselves in hell before they'd vote for Hillary, and that can also be said for too many Independents who we MUST win this time to prevail in November. These facts are simply incontrovertable. The general electorate has made up their mind about Hillary. She's MUCH riskier in the general election than Obama.

3. Personally, I hope he endorses no one

I would rather he not endorse either of the two remaining candidates. I have my issues with Clinton, but I have developed a stronger dislike for Obama.

His traveling Salvation Show, is all fluff. His messages are empty rhetoric, with very little substance or explanation. Not to mention how mean and nasty his supporters can be to anyone that doesn't tow the Obama line. They have developed into a cult mentality not unlike the followers of Bush in 2000.

The only person who offered the promise of real change in DC was John Edwards and he was kicked to the curb by the media never receiving the coverage his campaign deserved.

Just my .02 cents for what its worth.

4. I'd like to ask him not to endorse anyone....
...just do an "Al Gore" and stay out of it. He can do his life's work outside of politics and get much more accomplished, IMO.
