BBC Newshour will be live in Durham, Monday 1/30 - reserve your tix!

Attend a live broadcast of The BBC Newshour with Robin Lustig Monday, January 30, 2006

Sponsored by wunc.org.

The BBC Newshour with Robin Lustig will broadcast live from the WUNC studios at American Tobacco Historic District in Durham, Monday, January 30 at 7 and 9 AM. You are invited to have breakfast and view the broadcast. Space is limited, so RSVP today to 919-966-5454 or send email to: [email protected].

This event will bring the spotlight of international news (real news, 100% runaway-bride-free) to the Triangle. Seems like a good opportunity for some activism. I don't know if I'll have time to plan anything myself, though. Anybody want to jump on this?

BBC will broadcast live from Bull City

DURHAM -- A million people in the United States and as many as five million worldwide will listen to the BBC Newshour with Robin Lustig in a live broadcast Monday morning from Durham.

Lustig's radio show will be broadcast at 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. from North Carolina Public Radio-WUNC's studio at the American Tobacco District downtown.

In the process, some history will be made. The BBC has never before broadcast a live radio show from a non-BBC studio, WUNC officials say.

And curious residents will be able to watch the broadcast in a 400-seat studio. Although about a quarter of the seats already have been reserved, hundreds remain available.

WUNC general manager Joan Siefert Rose expects a full house and suggests reserving a seat as soon as possible.

Full article is in the Durham Herald-Sun.
