Poll question: Triangle Area DU get-together in August?
We met in Chapel Hill at 7:30 PM on a Saturday in June.

We met in Raleigh at 7:30 PM on a Saturday in July.

Let's meet in Durham at 7:30 PM on a Saturday this month.

Should we do the 21st or the 28th?

And please suggest favored waterholes.

1. I'd suggest either Devines or Satisfaction. James Joyce might be OK too.
A good thing about Devines is the outdoor seating, but that won't be cool if it rains. Satisfaction might be busy and noisy. James Joyce could be a bit small.

3. There's also a new sports bar - The Varsity Ale House
It's brand new apparently and is located beside Boston Market at South Square/Target.

I haven't been in yet so I don't know about it. I love, LOVE the James Joyce, but it's so small the phrase "hole in the wall" doesn't do it justice. ;-)

Here's the website; see what you think:

4. We've been there a couple of times.
The nice thing about Varsity Ale House is it wasn't crowded at all the times we went.

The food is typical restaurant food...not great, but not bad either.

5. I throw my support behind Varsity Ale House
If only because they have the decent pre-made apple martinis.

6. Yes, I agree with Varsity Ale House.
The service there seems really friendly and the place is large enough not to be crowded and too noisy.
