KETV - Lt. Gov.'s Son Injured In Shooting
News Release Says Shooting Was Accidental

OMAHA, Neb. -- The son of Nebraska Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy was being treated for a gunshot wound at an Omaha hospital following an incident early Wednesday morning.

Joel Sheehy, 21, was handling a firearm in his Omaha apartment when it accidentally discharged, according to a news release from his father's office. The Omaha Police Department officially ruled the shooting an accident on Wednesday afternoon.
