Right to Work Legislation advancing in the Missouri State Senate
The "Right to Work" (what a charming misnomer that is) legislation in various forms (Senate Bill #1, 109, 197 and HB275) is advancing in the Missouri State Senate. I would ask that my fellow Missourians to contact their State Senators opposing this series of bills. To do so you need only go to the web page http://www.senate.mo.gov/ type in your zipcode & up comes a page with a list of your elected representatives, then just click on your State Senator & you should find an email link on their individual page. Email them and let them know you oppose "Right to Work (for less)"

If possible contact your family & friends to do so as well. Let's fill up their email boxes with our opposition to this Union Busting series of bills

Thank You.

2. My state senator is David Pearce
my rep is Denny Hoskins.

There's no point in contacting either one of them since they are both in favor of the bill. They don't give a damn either about what others have to say-they are in good shape in my town.

3. This only takes a few seconds-do it no matter WHO your rep is
Sen McCaskill sent me the following email this morning. Here is the link to her online tool for contacting your state senator:

Thank you for helping us stop the attack on the minimum wage! Will you help us even more by forwarding the email below to everyone you know in Missouri?

Claire

SUBJ: A 2x4

Friend,
First they hit Wisconsin, then Ohio and Indiana. Now the Republicans’ war on working families has come to Missouri.
Last week the Missouri State House voted to lower the minimum wage by repealing a massively popular, voter-approved initiative that linked minimum wage increases to inflation.
That’s like taking a 2x4 to Missouri working families. We need to draw a line in the sand now as the bill moves to the State Senate.
Use our online tool to contact your state senator now and tell them: respect Missouri voters and Missouri values -- vote against the Republican repeal of minimum wage protections.
The initiative that State House Republicans voted to repeal passed in 2006 with 76% of the vote -- it was hugely popular. 1.6 million Missourians supported linking minimum wage increases to inflation because it’s the fair thing to do: when prices rise, working families’ wages should rise accordingly.
Now -- just five years later -- Republicans have made it clear they’re more interested in pleasing multimillionaires than protecting minimum wage earners. We can’t let them get a foothold on this issue here in Missouri.
Show them Missouri won’t tolerate a war on working families. Make your voice heard by emailing your state senator now. Ask them to stop this attack on the minimum wage.
Together, we can stop this war against working families. And we can start here in Missouri.
Sincerely,
at the
Claire McCaskill
