Like all her responses, it's an essay, and it fails to say what she'd actually do.

1. Amy's non-response responses
I too have noticed that Amy never responds to anything. LOL She does say "we've got work to do", "we need to work together to solve this", "there are no easy solutions, "this issue is important to me because it affected my family once or twice", etc.

Interesting, though, I wrote Amy a couple of emails saying that I thought here failure to do more to help working and middle class families deal with health care issues was cruel. Since then, I don't even get acknowledgments of my emails. It could be I inadvertently set the spam filter to block Amy but I don't think so.

I want Amy out of her senate seat. I hope we can find someone better. Most Dems would be better so it seems it is a matter of finding one willing to run.

2. I wonder who writes her stuff?
Whoever it is has a great talent for nonresponsive responses. I would have a whole lot more respect for the good Senator if she'd just take a clear stand on something -- anything -- even if I didn't agree. As it is, she just waffles and equivocates and tries to make you think she is offering a positive, warm-fuzzy response to your question, when she is really saying nothing at all.

3. She probably learned it at Yale
One of the early Doonesbury cartoons has Zonker sitting down at his typewriter (yes, it's that old) and saying to Mike, "Boy, do I ever have a lot of papers this term." He starts typing something like "Early attempts to deal with the question of responsibility for troublesome questions like this one..."

Mike asks, "What class is that for?"

Zonker says, "I haven't decided yet."

Amy's responses always remind me of that cartoon.

Classes at Yale require an immense amount of writing, and from what I know from my associations with undergraduates there, the requirements lead to an impressive ability to bullshit, because no one can actually write four twenty-page papers, two of which will have been assigned at the beginning of "reading period," and have them all be meaningful.

4. I received an email from Amy today asking me to contribute to Patrick Leahy's reelection
She praised him for spending so much time "listening to the people of Vermont". Which seemed kind of odd coming from a Senator who really doesn't care much what her constituents have to say.
