Peace Vigil: Speak Out Now! Say No To Escalation--End the War in Afghanistan!

Wednesday, November 25, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Lake Street/Marshall Avenue Bridge spanning the Mississippi River between Minneapolis and St. Paul.

As millions of Americans sit down for Thanksgiving dinner this week, an ominous questions will hover in the background. What will President Obama do about Afghanistan?

News reports today, Tuesday, November 24, indicate that President Obama will most likely be sending thousands of additional troops to Afghanistan. The announcement of this decision is expected to be made Tuesday, December 1, in a speech by the President from the White House.

So, once again we are sending a special appeal to you and others in the peace community to come to the Lake Street/Marshall Avenue Bridge Peace Vigil on Wednesday, November 25, to say "no" to an escalation of the war in Afghanistan. Now is the time for opponents of the war to be visible and to continue raising the call for an end to the war in Afghanistan. We must speak out now against escalation, before it occurs!
