Carpenters union endorses Coleman
Way to go, guys.

For Immediate Release:

Carpenters Union Endorses Sen. Norm Coleman

“Senator Coleman has stood with union construction workers consistently in the Senate. He has repeatedly supported paying prevailing wages to construction workers on federal projects. He has been a strong advocate for vital investments in our nation’s infrastructure and for rebuilding America. We’re proud to stand with him in his re-election campaign,” said Kyle Makarios, political director for the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters.
The Carpenters Union has a long history with Norm Coleman. The union endorsed him in both of his campaigns for St. Paul mayor and have maintained a good working relationship with him since then.
Senator Coleman stated: “I’m honored to receive this endorsement today from the state’s largest construction union. Since my days in the Mayor’s office, I have worked hard to create jobs and grow the economy. I’m proud that the work I am doing has such strong support statewide, and I look forward to continuing to work for Minnesota’s families in the Senate.”
“Our union will work with any elected official who is willing to work with us. We want to talk about jobs and economy, not about what party someone belongs to,” Makarios said.

Disgusting.

1. Mind-blowing.
I have to wonder just how many of the rank-and-file supported this decision.

"Our union will work with any elected official who is willing to work with us."

They think that Franken wouldn't work with them? Crazy stuff.

4. Probably from those recent anti-union commercials
which seemed like pro-union at first glance. They confused a few DUers so I can see many union members being confused.

5. Rank'n'filers
don't have a whole lot to do with these decisions.

3. I can't think of a day
when I've ever seen Kyle Makarios pick up a hammer. And that goes for most of the council's members.

6. Are they nuts?
How can they possibly think any Republican is labor friendly?

7. What are they thinking?
Any union edorsing a Republican is like a chicken endorsing Colonel Sanders.

8. How stupid do you have to be to endorse someone whose party kills unions?

Are carpenters really that stupid? Have they been picking their noses with nail guns again?

9. Makes me glad I've never hired a union carpenter
The best carpenters I've ever had were all non-union and it's obvious they had good reasons for not joining this bunch of thugs. The Carpenters Union and Republicans deserve each other.
