Michele Bachmann on our success in Iraq: "The story of 2007"
http://dumpbachmann.blogspot.com/2007/12/sc-times-bachmann-says-she-has-seen.html

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., arrived Sunday in the Middle East, where she will remain through Christmas.

Bachmann declined to specify her location, citing security concerns, but said the mission of her second trip to the Middle East was to speak to troops directly and thank them for their service.

Bachman said she has seen progress in the area since her first trip last July.

“I’ve seen incredible developments in that period of time,” she said in a telephone interview Sunday afternoon. “Security, no question, is improving.”

Bachmann cited security and stability, along with less violence and more trust of troops from Iraqis as examples of the developments.

She also said there are fewer troop and civilian injuries and improvements in electrical service, hospitals and elementary schools. More is happening in the economy, she said.

Bachmann said this success is the “story of 2007.”

1. More Bizarre Statements About Iraq From Bachmann
More delusional talking points today from Bachmann:

"There are children in the streets playing where there weren't before," she said of Ramadi, which has seen a sharp decrease in sectarian violence since President Bush's military surge temporarily added about 30,000 more American troops to existing forces this summer.

"In order to have political stability, they need economic stability, and you're seeing the beginnings of that today," Bachmann said.

From the Star and Tribune today:

The wounded, bloodied and bandaged were crowded into the rooms and hallways of the Beiji General hospital. Three bodies _ one of a child _ were laid out on the floor, covered with white sheets.
