Major Solar VAR opens office in Brockton.

GRO, a Value Added Reseller of solar heat and electricity products has opened a branch office in MA, FWIW. This statement from their PR piece about the state of the MA market struck me as oh-so-true -- I don't see many panels even when driving through earthy-crunchy Amherst/Leverette/etc and definitely haven't seen much in the way of advertising for installers.

In fact the only two panel systems I've ever seen is one oddball one way way down the road from me, and one up in Everette which I helped an old manager of mine move aside for a re-shingling. And I make it a point to look.

Jeff Wolfe, CEO of Global Resource Options, said, "Massachusetts is an underserved market for solar electric and hot water systems, despite the high and growing demand in this state for residential solar. By placing staff on the ground in Massachusetts, GRO will bring its high level of expertise in residential and small commercial solar to the people and businesses of the Bay State. It is a move that makes sense for GRO, building on the excellent reputation of the company in current, proximate market areas."

The office will be managed by Dan Porrazzo. Porrazzo brings over twenty years of experience in residential and commercial buildings, including nearly ten years of photovoltaic experience. Porrazzo comes to GRO from Conservation Services Group, where he served for eight years as a project manager designing and constructing small to very large commercial solar systems.

Unless you have a very large area for collectors, you'd better still be on the grid for December and January.
