Anti-gay bigots blame Der Mittenfuhrer for legalizing gay marriage
The following is from an email by Brian Camanker, the Maoist anti-gay fag-hag bigot at Article Hate Alliance:

=== 1. Yes: Gov. Mitt Romney started same-sex marriage in Massachusetts! Outrage growing, tho many pro-family leaders still in denial. Read and judge for yourself. . . ===

Same-sex "marriage" is still NOT legal in Massachusetts, and was NOT created by the Supreme Judicial Court's Goodridge ruling.

In fact, it was Governor Mitt Romney who was ultimately responsible for same-sex "marriages" taking place. The Supreme Judicial Court only issued an opinion and advised the Legislature to act (which it never did). The Court acknowledged that IT had no power to change the law!

Governor Romney created these "marriages" through an unconstitutional and illegal directive to his Department of Public Health (to print new "marriage" licenses), and through his legal counsel threatened to fire any Town Clerk or Justice of the Peace who failed to implement the (non-existent) "new law". He was not required by any constitutional mandate to do these things. On the contrary, his actions clearly violated his oath to uphold the laws of Massachusetts.

Painstakingly gathered and lawyers and researchers since the Goodridge court decision became a chilling (and illegal) reality, over the last several weeks this material has been going across the country via email (and even snail mail) among the conservative and pro-family community. A lot of people have been jolted by this and have said "Why didn't I know sooner?" Others refuse to address it, almost as if in a state of denial.

This is important. Massachusetts is ground zero in this part of the battle. As we present Part I, you can judge for yourself:

(Link to hate site deliberately omitted).

This might be worth sharing with anti-gay fundie bigots who want to blame "activist judges." Tell them it's Romney's fault.

2. Wing-nuts eating their own.
Romney may be a phony and a fair-weather conservative but not on these grounds.
Romney's flip-flopping on civil unions and his recent evolution into a staunch
right winger would be more accurate points of contention.

The Article Hate gang has a more tortured view of the law than I gave them credit for.
They acknowledge that the "activist judges" interpreted the Constitution as written.
They acknowledge that the Legislature (or the voters) could have changed the
Constitution. They still don't accept the Constitution as binding law even though
they want to amend it?

The Constitution is the law and Romney followed the law here (kicking and screaming
all the way).
