Jobs
Is anyone else in KY having a hard time getting a job? I live in Bowling Green and I applied for jobs in Louisville, Nashville, Chicago, Lexington, and Memphis to get nothing. I have a degree and a couple IT certificates yet I can't even get a job through a temp agency. Some employers did say they can't hire me since I only attended schools in MI. Anyone else finding shit like this? Since my temp job at Dell, I only heard from 2 employers: one had their mind made up that I wasn't working class enough and the other didn't like my MI degree.

4. Why doesn't India hire some of their own SLAVES?
Robert Redford's show on PBS about REAL Heroes had a story yesterday about present day SLAVERY in India.

We ought to make that a part of any dealings with Indian capitalists; they should have a certain percentage of their work-forces comprised of those Indians who were previously slaves.

2. How old are you?
My husband looked for 2 years. There were a couple of in-appropriate temp things, way below his skill-level, he's an attorney and a baby-boomer.

I'm in the streets a lot for various gatherings; I meet many 50 somethings with serious trouble getting re-employed.

7. I'm 30
I noticed that more people in their 60's are looking for jobs. Maybe SS was cut but they are competing against more and more people. I'm about to either move to America (blue state) or give up. Stupid fundies want to destroy America so let them and see how many stay in their mega-mall/churches.

8. You'll be okay.
I have worked since i was 14 yrs-old. Getting hired is much different now. WAY more dependent upon whom you know, and how well you know them.

Qualifications don't count the same as they used to.
