Any protests in Lawrence for Sept. 15?
I don't usually post here in the Kansas forum, but I was wondering whether there are any plans for a Sept. 15 protest here in Lawrence, and if so, where it will be staged. I think we need as many people as possible all across the country, and I am willing to join, cane and all, if one is scheduled for Lawrence.

1. There's one in Overland Park and Lawrence people are coming
101st and Bond (Bluejacket Park) at noon. We are marching north on Quivira to Oak Park Mall and then east on 95th to Brownback's office.

The march is sponsored by the KC IVAW chapter and the president lives in Lawrence.

Come join us!

2. Wish I could. I can stand--for a while--but I can't march.

I have a ruptured disc and a bulging disc, and recently had foot surgery. I was hoping there would be a local demonstration where I could go, lean on my cane, and hold a sign, to do my part to increase the numbers on the streets across the country.

4. I don't know. The newspaper used to report occasionally, but
I have seen nothing on that topic for some time now. I don't know whom to contact to find out. Maybe the news desk of the Journal-World would have that info. I will check with them.

5. Call the Solidarity Center on Mass.
They should know.
