I've read on other blogs that the appearances are only about raising money for Whalen. Who's gonna care who came to visit on behalf of Whalen if he has 2x as much $$ as Braley? :shrug: Even if the majority of Whalen's $$ came from himself! d.

And the first 2 things he does after winning the primary is hold campaign fundraisers with Karl Rove and Dick Cheney. As for Cheney and his 20% approval rating, I doubt there are many of that 20% that live in the Democratic leaning 1st District. Cheney and Rove won't help win the moderates.

8. I too noted that the articlle listed no time or place.

We can rule out union halls, local taverns, hmmm. let's see. Of course..The Thunder Bay Grill (which Whalen owns). He is always having his political events there. The time would probably be sometime in mid day when no actual working people could show up. Would love to picket but need more information.
