DFA finalist voting Monday - 9-5 ET only - URGENT to vote
Please remember to vote for Nancy Skinner in DFA's All Star voting runoff on Monday. You can only vote from 9-5 Eastern time. Winning will mean a lot of money for Nancy's campaign to help her unseat Joe Knollenberg in the Michigan 9th District.

Why I should win the DFA contest

Nancy Skinner here, the Democratic candidate in Michigan's 9th CD (suburban Detroit) - fresh off the Yearly Kos convention where I was in attendance. In addition to getting energized, I was able to meet with Joe Trippi and bring him on board the Skinner campaign!

DFA is holding their "grass-roots all-star contest" and the runoff vote is Monday, June 19th by 5:00 PM. I am in second place and need your vote on Monday to win. http://tools.democracyforamerica.com/housevote/index.ph...
Why do I deserve it?

NancySkinner's diary :: ::
I started as an environmentalist and pioneered progressive radio to get our voices heard much the way the blogosphere has continued to expand the national conversation. As a congresswoman I will help the auto industry green itself by producing more hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fuel-cell vehicles. Buzzflash.com just posted an interview with me that says a lot about where I have been and where I'm going http://www.buzzflash.com/interviews/06/06/int06023.html

The really good news is that I can win! This district is a 50/50 district and Republicans have an ugly primary while Democrats have united. I'd love you to visit my website www.skinnerforcongress.com, watch me on video on TV, and give us feedback (and hopefully your DFA vote)!

Help elect me to Congress and C-Span will get a lot more interesting... Nancy Skinner (DEM MI-09) www.skinnerforcongress.com

2. What is an appeal for Nancy Skinner doing in the Iowa forum?
Hopefully DAVE LOEBSACK or BRUCE BRALEY will be one of the finalists that will be announced tomorrow.

4. Just got an email from DFA
Neither Braley or Loebsack made it. And that is a shame.

3. Since you posted this on all state forums
I felt I just had to go and vote for three other candidates.

6. We decided to post everywhere to get her name out
Since you never know who is reading which forums, it didn't hurt to post wherever we could to garner support when people learn about her if they don't "have their own horse in the race." That's what campaigning is all about -- get your candidate's name known wherever you can.

Sorry you felt you had to be contrary and spiteful instead of learning about an excellent candidate. Not that the others aren't good -- I'm sure they are if they made the finals -- but that's a heck of a way to make an "informed decision" about why to vote for someone.

9. Are you kidding?
Did you just come on the Iowa Forum and chastise one of our posters? :grr: We are all friends here and work for and support each other's candidates and causes for the most part. You really don't have much right to make demands of us and then complain when we don't fall in line on behalf of a candidate we have never heard of b/c you decided to branch out and blow your gym coach's whistle.

Just to continue Iowa's tradition of being contrary and spiteful, that is NO WAY to make friends here!

10. Sorry you saw it as a demand.
It wasn't. It was just a way of educating people about a good candidate. Everyone is certainly entitled to vote for whomever they want to vote for.

I never expected everyone to "fall in line," as you say. I just hoped people would learn about the candidates and make an informed choice.

Obviously, as witnessed by the poster below, some people here are willing to learn about the candidates and make informed decisions.

Have a nice day.

7. I think Braley and Loebsack split votes
Which is really too bad. I have heard Nancy Skinner on AAR's Mike Malloy show. She is sharp and has good ideas. McNerney from CA is also a candidate and recently won Feingold's Pick a Progressive Patriot.
