DES MOINES, IA - Senate Republican President Jeff Lamberti has decided not to leave his leadership post to seek his party's nomination in Iowa's 3rd Congressional District.

(snip)

There are no other Republicans seeking the nomination to oppose Boswell.

"It's made easier because I don't have a primary," said Lamberti. "It's also made easier in comparison to others, by where I'm located."

---------------

Good.

1. Nothing about that on his campaign site
http://www.jefflamberti.com/

Maybe he just hasn't gotten up the motivation to update?

2. Still running
He plans to hold onto his leadership position in the Iowa Senate while campaigning for the US House seat. At least that is what I just heard on NPR.

3. Man, Seth, I got all happy inside .... just to be let down
That's some arrogance! He'll probably be able to raise more money as Leader than just running for Congress. Maybe his being distracted by his little old congressional race will help Democrats in the Statehouse.

5. Sorry everyone...
Looks like the gazette changed the headline to reflect reality now..

I guess he IS running, but just isn't giving up his seat to do so, right?

Sheesh, this sucks.

6. Heard on NPR
that Marshalltown's Larry McKibben might take Lamberti's leadership position if Lamberti wins. That would be horrible. McKibben is an idiot. He is against all taxes, for killing anything that committs a crime, and said raising the taxes on cigarettes is a bad idea cause smokers don't live as long as other people.

7. Lamberti's campaign manager is Kevin Graney
Graney worked as deputy regional political director for the RNC. Before that, he worked on President Bush's re-election campaign in West Virginia.

4-5 paragraph article on it in the Register on Sunday

8. Perhaps the title should be editted
It is misleading - although it wasn't at the time you posted it.

Thanks

How are you doing? :hi:

I think the time limit is up for self-editing or self-deleting. We're just going to keep this thread going to embarrass Seth x(

10. Ha ha.
Yep, the time limit is up...

For the record, it was the Gazette's crappy reporting and not completely my fault! I suppose I should have verified with another media source or something..lol.

Let's just let this one sink to the bottom now!
