1. Bloomington Checking In.
Practically snowed in, but I'm pretty much prepared. I rented a ton of movies and stocked up on wine. Fun times, indeed.

2. Yeah, I'm not so much prepared.
Wishing now that I had thought ahead a little bit. Grr... And WHY can't it be on a day that I work? Perfect day for a snow day, but NOOOOoooo. Has to be on my vacation. Freaking. I'm done now, for the moment.

5. It'll be alright.
Just keep the furnace cranked up and the pets inside.

Bundle up and try to avoid leaving the house. You'll be fine. What part of Indiana are you in, anyway?

14. I'm in Anderson...
And today I went sledding:-) At least the snow is good for something! We got probably 9-10 inches last night, more than I've seen in one night in a long time.

4. I just got home from work...
... and I left work at 11:15. It took me over three and a half hours to get home. Southern Indiana is a mess.

The roads are littered with cars in ditches.

It's 1:21 AM, 60 degrees...and the sun is out. Well, maybe the sun isn't out, but the rest is true...actually, it's 40 degrees right now.

But no snow!

getting a lot of the white stuff.

We're also getting a lot of snow. I love it! Been waiting for this...just in time for Christmas!

11. 6-8 inches west of Detroit
I drove ten miles on the highway heading into work this morning, before I thought better, and turned around and went home. Maybe a 25 mile round trip that took me from 5:15 to 6:45 a.m.

12. foot and a half of snow or more
here in Lawrence County.

Plenty of food, bottled water, entertainment. Car dug out so if and when the road is ever plowed we can get back out.

Worse than the blizzard of '78. Had to close my biz early yesterday and didn't go in today. I heard they even closed Crane to non-essentials. Wowie.

I hear Key West is nice this time of year. Thinking of moving.

15. I went to work today, but most people were stuck at home
We did have 10 inches in Indy, but I had to shovel my way out of my condo because the front and back doors were blocked by snow drift. Once I got to my mini-SUV, the rest was a piece of cake!

16. Heh Heh ...
We got nada yesterday (Weds) in Carmel, but last night I had to drive to the airport to pick up HippieKid at 10 pm, and HOLY FREAKIN' MOLY was the drive home scary !!!

I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin so I KNOW snow, but last night was too scary. Visibilty was almost 0, and my wiper blades kept freezing up ... it was just nasty.

On vacation until after the holidays, thankfully !

BE SAFE, FELLOW HOOSIERS !!!

17. That's what you get for not buying enuff bread and milk...
If you're a Native Hoosier, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
Winter Storm Warning gets issued, Hoosiers scurry to the store and buy 47 loaves of Wonder Bread and 26 gallons of Homo milk...

And it's just them and the cat.

Even if you DID get snowed in for a week, just how many dishes can you make out of bread and milk?

:D

19. ROFL!
Went to the store Tuesday (about 8 hours before the snow was set to start)...could not get a cart when I walked in! Had to wait for one to come in from parking lot (actually had to wait for 3 because I wasn't interested in physically battling other shoppers).

I'm allergic to milk but we did buy one loaf of bread (so we could make pb&j sandwiches if power went out.

Mostly we just wanted to buy groceries for the week since we normally shop on Thursday and expected there'd be too much snow then.

The shoppers were insane and the check out girl said it had been that way since 8:00 am that morning. LOL

Why do Hoosiers make that milk and bread run? I think it should be studied. Maybe the secrets of the world could be uncovered. ;-)

20. hee hee hee :-)
I made it up north (near goshen) for Christmas day to be with family, and it's good timing because to add to all the snow in Anderson, my furnace stopped working and a water pipe froze up:-) So I packed up the hamsters and headed out! We'll see if the landlord has it fixed before i get back tomorrow night. Hope you all have a warm and safe Christmas!

Have one car out ... still working on the other one! Roads are now not too bad, assuming you can get out of your driveway!
