War protesters set up base at south-side office

40 gather to launch local ‘Camp Casey’

The effort to end the war in Iraq took up residence in Fort Wayne on Sunday as activists established a “Camp Casey” at the new NAACP office on East Pontiac Street.

:hi: I was just telling my hubby that I heard about this on the news yesterday. We are really happy this has come to our area, we're planning on making a visit in the near future.

2. Cliff would like others to come and camp there as well.

He would like to take his message out to other parts of the city, but doesn't want to leave the camp unstaffed.

3. After a two-week presence, the camp is now closed.

There was a lot of dialog in the community about the war on Iraq and the need to stop it. I am sorry the camp had to close, but our connections are now stronger and we will continue to speak out against the war.
