WCPT-AM 850 schedule changes, starting Feb 19.
http://www.wcptam.com/news/view?articleID=54

They'll air Randi live from 2 PM-5 PM, Thom Hartmann from 5 PM-8 PM, and Mike Malloy from 8 PM-11 PM (though Mike will only be heard on the radio broadcast during the summer months, and for a small portion of the show, because of the sign-off requirement at sunset).

1. woohoo
so happy they will have mike! now if only they would dump ed.
i wonder why they do not seem to really promote themselves as air america. i know a lot of their programming is non-aar.
but they have bill boards up, and they do not have the aar logo, or any other mention.

2. with that lineup, I think only Randi is AAR
And I think a lot of stations are going "independent" this way and not calling themselves AAR.

3. hartman is now aar.
and a lot of their weekend is aar, i think. i don't listen that often, cuz reception here sucks.
seems like that station is neither fish nor fowl. hope they can survive and grow, but i would think they would be better off just going aar all the way. those billboards just make me shake my head. they need some good marketing advice.

4. They are owned by a true lefty not by clear channel
and they really seem to want to survive. They changed their shows to less AAR when it looked like AAR was going under. They now have billboards on the kennedy that say "Mr president, how many more lives" and "bring the troops home". I think they will be around for a while.

5. i hope so.
i love the sentiment behind the billboards, but the design is sad. at least with the aar logo on there, you would know they were not jsut some pissed off citizen. you can barely tell who put them up there. i want them to flourish. i think they need at least one evil capitalist.
