We managed to get enough petition cards for our Dean-inspired congressional candidate. Many of our DEC worked against us on it and refused to sign cards. Some said they preferred the GOP incumbent. Some gave no reason.
It is hard to fight the Florida Republicans and the Florida Democratic/Republicans at the same time.
We were told that it was better that the GOP candidate received no opposition.
Why would ANY DEC member refuse to sign a card to get a fellow Democrat on the ballot? They did not have to vote, just sign the cards.
But we keep working while fighting our own party here.
