1. Pasadena was excellent.
There was actually multiple vigils in Pasadena. We went to the one in Memorial Park led by the Veterans for Peace, ICUJP, Iraq Vets Against the War, Gold Star Families and American Friends Service Committee. We carried coffins and signs up and down Colorado Blvd. We hand a ton of people thanking us, giving us peace signs and various shows of support.

When my friend emails me the pics, I'll post them here.

2. I don't know how many vigils in SF. I had a handful of people
out here on the beach. One was a Gold Star mom. . . at first I was discouraged but then remembered, this is how you build grassroots. One here, two there, seven people around a fire.

Go, Caliornia. :)

peace,
Beth

which is a beach town just south of SF.

on edit: The crowd has been growing steadily over the past two or three months; before that it was only the regulars.

4. I was in Studio City- I'm guessing around 150 people
No pics from me. Sorry. Hopefully someone else may have some.

They vigil there every friday night (corner of Ventura and Laurel Canyon). Those are more rowdy and loud. This was solemn and very nice although many cars did drive by and honked in approval.

I met DUer Huskerlaw there! She just moved here from Nebraska. We are glad to have her!

5. Let me know about the Friday night vigil
I could use some rowdiness. It was hard to be solem last night when the occasional freeper drove by (very fast) and yell something stupid. What a bunch of Chickenhawks.

7. Friday Night Vigil in Studio City
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 11:36 AM by Beaverhausen
Every Friday from 6 PM to 7:30 at the corner of Laurel Canyon and Ventura Blvd. right in front of the Washington Mutual Bank-parking right behind the bank (enter from Laurel Canyon)

They have a "band" playing music and there is much honking and merriment.

This is sponsored by Neighbors for Peace and Justice; I will PM you their email address if you want the weekly reminder.

Also for added fun there is a small freeper contingent that holds court across the street holding lovely signs such as:

Pray for Peace: Al Queda will kill you last

and

New Orleans: Dem Governor, Dem Mayor; Vote Democrat and Die!
