1. You are correct.
By the time Shrub started airing ads, the flight suit was already widely considered a joke. Also, his early ads did nothing but bash Kerry.

2. My bewilderment was mostly sarcastic

As the whole stunt became a big joke, and not only here at DU.

The irony is not lost, however, in just how big the stunt ended backfirng on them. A big PR production number specifically orchestrated as an election ploy, ended up making them a laughing stock. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! It's actually kinda sweet.

3. Oh, I know.
I was just translating it for the sarcasm-impaired. A few people here did not see the sarcasm of the "Bush will clobber Kerry at the debates" threads, for example.

4. What are you talking about!!
Bush is NOT going to clobber Kerry in the debates. He is a stupid moron. Why can't people get it through their heads at this site that Kerry is a great candidate and Bush is a fool.

Geesh!

Bush is one hell of a master debater. He can wank off with the best of them.

6. What if he decided to give a demonstration Friday?
Would the FCC fine the networks?
