Hey you in red areas! Get those bumberstickers on and those signs up!!!
after last night, we can stand proud, those of us in heavily repuke areas!!! I was a little timid about putting my bumbersticker on, not wanting my car to get vandalized, but i did about a month ago.

My neighborhood is very red, and I was even more hesitant about putting a sign out, BUT NO MORE. Kerry got the message out, and I am proudly supporting him and I want the whole neighborhood to know!!!!!

1. You're right
I've got two bumperstickers on the car but I can put a sign in the bedroom window of my condo.

5. Try the "garage" yard sign technique
If you live in a deed-restricted neighborhood, here's a way to get around the no yard-sign rule: Raise your garage door and lean the yard sign up against the back of your car. Our political support for Kerry is displayed whenever we're home. It also keeps the sign from being stolen, since people would think twice before actually coming into your garage. Our republican neighbors got wise to it immediately, and did the same thing with their Bush-Cheny 04 yard sign.

2. Why would you assume that we haven't already?
I've had both for MONTHS.

6. good!!! i wish i had
your self-confidence. I am speaking to those of us in very rethug areas where even showing dem colors is an invitation for confrontation. I am in an area where dems have been pushed into the closet, and the debate is just one more signal that it is OK to come out! I think that there are more of us than i realize up here.

3. Agreed!
We've had a sign up in our window at home, and we had a yard sign, but just got around to putting it up last night when we got home from our debate watching party. we'll see if it's still there when we get home.

Our car is ADORNED with bumper stickers, but I just began wearing my Kerry button to work today. I wear it everywhere else, but usually take it off before coming in. Not anymore.

(I was cautioned about "talking politics" with a coworker recently since she's Repub. But another of we DUers wears her button to work here, and a Repug downstairs has his "Flush the Johns" sign in his office window.)

That's enough for me. Kerry kicked butt last night. I have even more reason than usual to flaunt my support here.

4. We're Standing Taller Today in Brevard County, Florida!!
I cannot tell you how glad I am that Kerry kicked some repuke ass last night. It is just what Democrats in this decidely red area needed to see and hear. I had a woman approach me at a gas station before the last hurricane. She actually felt the need to WHISPER, "where did you get your Kerry-Edwards bumper sticker?" I gave her one, which I always carry in my car. If I am any indication, Kerry's awesome performance is going to totally re-energize his base for the final push toward election day. We're waving signs tonight at a busy local intersection, and I can't wait for the honks that I know will come.

7. Have had multiple stickers on for months and I've had strangers ask me
for stickers, etc.

We're having problems in my area with stolen signs for both candidates apparently. At first people were writing ltte's and complaining on local radio about Kerry/Edwards signs being stolen.

This morning a police officer was interviewed on talk radio who had stopped a teenage boy who had taken up 72 bush* signs. The officer stated that the boy was angry with bush* for sending his older brother to Iraq. I'm glad that each time I heard this clip it included the officer's comment referring to why the boy took the signs.
