Print media not allowed in debate hall .
Just heard on NPR that the print media will not be in the debate hall. They will watch THE ONE ALLOWED FEED in a separate room. Fox controls the cameras and feed for all the television feeds and also for what the print media sees?

What is going on?

We'll all see through the eyes of Ruper's minions. Kerry will be orange, W will have a hallo. They did that already, on the Simpsons.

As for the left wing networks, good one!

18. "Left Wing Networks"?
I notice that CBS is not included. What about PBS?

Of course, if your president doesn't like what happens tonight, he's already warned he'll skip the next two debates. So that leaves us with Fox.

And how many rules did each campaign set forth? Isn't fragile little Chimpy the one who needs to be handled with kid gloves?

4. I can see what they are doing
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 01:18 PM by ItsMyParty
Remember Bush rules say that the camera cannot show the other candidate while the other one is speaking?? He's scared shitless (because he's a half wit who can't keep his brains about him for 90 minutes) that he will be caught like Daddy looking at his watch; or making is wierd faces, or looking bored or looking like things are a joke. If you can't see it on tv, he does not want the print media to tell you what really was going on the next day. They are to be kept in the dark like us----so that tells you about what the hell this witless wonder is going to be doing while Kerry is talking. Probably eating boggers or sticking his hand in his pants and playing with himself!!

5. Maintaining control of perceptions of debate, candidates
If a print reporter shows up, he will be able to report that they saw Bush scratching his balls and reading notes written on his wrists. What good does it do to specify camera shots if there are independent eyes?

6. Well, if the print media would like to put pressure on coward boy
then they have that power. It worked to get his chicken hawk ass in front of the 9/11 commission NOT under oath and NOT alone! This guy needs to be embarrassed world wide, it's time the media grabs their balls and ovaries and print the damn truth! We have an incompetent chicken hawk running the most powerful country in the world.

15. So....
There will be no audience it all, or will regular people be there? Is this an actual rule in the 32 page agreement?

16. Print Usually Gets The Back Of The Room
First, this is a TV Show...nothing more or less. The audience is going to be loaded with "dignitaries" (party hacks, U of M folks and the media elite). Remember, that auditorium is loaded with TV gear and the stage is probably a Broadway set by now. There's only so many asses that can fit in the room.

There's usually several "media rooms" at these functions. This is where the print, radio and local media folks hang out. They get one or more video feeds and probably can see and hear just as well as if they were in the room.

The fun begins AFTER the show. That's when the spin rooms get rolling and these media are used to shill and claim Bunnypants the victor.

I had the chance to cover one of the '88 debates...it's was a media circus royale then, I can only imagine what it's like now.

20. Not the same
Sounds like you have more experience with these sorts of things, but it seems to me that print media could miss a lot by not being in the room....the mood, the degree of fervor in the applause, gasps, murmuring, members of the audience looking at each other in disbelief, body language, and anything not shown on the one camera feed.
