If Faux is providing the "pool" feed tonight...
does anyone really think they will allow any feeds that make Bush-Lite look bad to air on any network (like the watch incident of his dad)?

1. The rules have pretty much taken care of that
In fact, not showing a wide shot, back of the head shot, or cut away shot of one candidate while the other is answering is a big no-no because of the Bush41 watch thingie.

4. Reuters reporting network(s) will not abide by the rule
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=televisionNews&storyID=6371885

"At issue is a 32-page agreement between the campaigns on the structure of the debate, which lays out the ground rules on everything from camera angles to what kind of paper the candidates can use to take notes during the debate. It's the rule prohibiting shots of Bush or Kerry while the other speaks that has irked the networks.

Network news executives said Wednesday they would not abide by that agreement, arguing that it amounts to an editorial decision and that each network should have the right to make the call on how the event is presented to viewers.

"We will make editorial decisions about any camera shots in our coverage on Thursday night," said Julie Summersgill, a spokeswoman for ABC News. "We don't enter into agreements with the people we cover."

Fox News will run the pool cameras, providing multiple video streams for all networks covering the debate. Spokesman Paul Schur said Fox News isn't going to abide by the rules set down by the campaigns."

However, I don't trust Fauxviews.

3. I heard the networks were balking
CNN ran an artilc the other day saying that the agreement on camera angles was between the parties and the Networks were not a party to the agreement and as such, they were not bound by it.

Fox will bend to the networks on this...mostly because they want to be treated as an equal...They hose this up and they will bear more ridicule and scorn.

5. Who controls camera setup?
If that goes to Fox News, then expect Kerry to look visually bad. All they have to do is throw an unflattering filter on one camera and dedicate it as the main Kerry camera.

Or the reverse, throw a flattering filter on the camera dedicated to Bush.

Who would ever know if Fox is running the camera.
