Philadelphia voter registration is biggest in 20 years
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 12:59 PM by WI_DEM
Just saw these stats on Daily Kos:

Philadelphia "has biggest boom in new voters in 20 years, 'We're swamped.'" and in Philly that means more Democrats.

Cuyahoga Co. (Cleveland,Oh) has seen voter registration levels up an amazing 150%.

Miami/Dade Co is up 65% thru mid-Sept as compared to 2000.

In Missouri focused on poor black neighborhoods in St. Louis, Mid Missouri and rural areas Americans Coming Together and other groups have registered 50,000 people (so far) as compared to "a few thousand in 2000."

Ok, registration is going well, now it is all about making them turn out on election day.

2. I am somewhat annoyed that people quote
percentage increase in voter registration cycle over cycle.
What does it mean? Last time it was 10 people, this time it's 20.
Hooray: a 100% increase!

I want to see hard numbers. I want to see percentages of the voting population to be able judge the significance of it all.

Just a rant... :grr:

4. Come on!
Do you seriously think 10 people voted in Cleveland in a last election?
Hey, we are number one this year (poorest big city in the nation).
Bush had accomplished something in OH after all!
