NYT:Cheney is out of touch with America
It seems all Cheney talks about is Iraq and terrorism. The people who attend his campaign events want to hear more about the domestic plans but it's all Iraq and terrorism

At town hall and round-table discussions, every word of Mr. Cheney's remarks was dedicated to terrorism and the Iraq war. At the rallies, where Mr. Cheney delivered his stump speech, he did bring up domestic policy - six minutes of his usual 28-minute speech in St. Joseph were used to discuss the Republicans' domestic platform.

Among the usual statements during his discussions of Iraq was the assertion that Saddam Hussein's regime "had a relationship with Al Qaeda," as he put it in Lansing. In its report last summer, the 9/11 commission said it found "no credible evidence that Iraq and Al Qaeda cooperated on attacks against the United States.'' The Senate Intelligence Committee has reached similar conclusions.

Even after remarks wholly dedicated to foreign policy, the vast majority of questions from members of the audience - all of them unerringly polite and deferential - dealt with domestic or economic issues, not wars or terrorism.

he really doesn't give a fat rat's butt about anything else but building the American Imperial Empire.

2. it is all about instilling fear in Americans, just like Michael Moore said
the GOP cannot possibly run on their record so fear is all they have left; it's quite pathetic; unfortunately, a lot of Americans buy into it.

4. People love to be lied to...........................
Cheney is a sterling example of that. Everything that comes out of his twisted, sneering mouth is a lie, but the Bush faithful eat it up with a spoon. They love being told what to think, especially when they're told that they're "right" and everyone else is "wrong".
It doesn't matter that all the things they're told are lies, as long as they perceive that these lies are "right", anything goes. It must be wonderful to be a Republican. You're never wrong, you don't have to bother thinking for yourself and you're never held accountable for anything that happens because of these lies and intellectual laziness. Being a Republican is pretty darn easy.

5. Republicans always felt that was what govt. was about
Dem were into the local stuff as they Republicans ran the world. That is a little far out but you know what I mean. I even read that now Bush likes the whole flying over seas and meeting heads of state. You know "The White Mans Burden" and all that type stuff.

7. The "strong on security" administration
...laid down for the greatest national security diaster since WWII.

...is losing the war in Iraq.

...is abusing and damaging the manpower resources of the US Armed Forces.

...is alienating our most powerful military allies.
