GOP Primary Possible in Mississippi 1
Despite an impressive first fundraising filing and support from state and national Republicans, Republican state Sen. Alan Nunnelee may not be able avoid a primary next year in his effort to knock off Democratic freshman Rep. Travis Childers in Mississippi’s 1st District.

Former Eupora Mayor Henry Ross is seriously considering entering the race and said this week that he intends to make a decision “after the first of the year.”

“We’re still traveling the district and meeting people and talking to people about the race,” Ross said.

Ross, a lawyer and Navy veteranm, was mayor of Eupora from 1997 to 2001. In the George W. Bush administration, he was senior counsel at the Justice Department.

Ross was recently in Washington, D.C., attending a “candidate school” event held by the National Republican Congressional Committee.

If he does decide to challenge Nunnelee, however, he faces an uphill battle.

Nunnelee raised about $220,000 in two months of fundraising, has already received a campaign contribution from popular GOP Gov. Haley Barbour and was recently added to the National Republican Cognressional Committee’s “Young Guns” the candidate recruitment and training program designed to assist Republican candidates for the U.S. House.

4. Of course he's not, but Palin, Army, Santorum, etc. all think he is!
I can't recall who the spokesman was who was on the TV, and also on the radio, who even commented..."I've never seen a moderate vote from Haley!" I guess he's just not RW enough to suit those nutballs!

a republican in sheeps' clothing.
