Palin backed candidate will almost win and may even pull an upset in NY 23rd. I don't see GOP moderates turning out in any numbers to vote for a DEM, if any. The best thing would be if they stay home.

1. I don't see a conservative winning a district that has been represented by republicans for
100+ years as an "upset." But hey, that's just me.

2. The media want to frame it that way. If anything, it is showing that while the Rethugs
can win in small tent districts they won't be able to win bigger tent races. They are on the verge of marginalizing themselves if not already.

3. This is the key to 2010 -- teabaggers will be out in full force
I don't know how the NY23 thing is going to work. Sounds like the Republican candidate was more better than the Dem on a lot of issues. Some say the district is conservative, but not batshit crazy.

That being said, the midterms are going to be really tricky.

Polling shows the majority of Americans don;t trust Republicans to make decisions about the country.

However, There will be lots of operatives working overtime trying to get Democrats to stay home.

Meanwhile the teabaggers will be enraged and energized and ready to "take their country back"

4. The race has only been very recently scrambled, alhtough you are
right that Palin moved in pretty early in this race and endorsed Hoffman.

Should Hoffman triumph, he would appear to owe her what -- maybe an endorsement if she runs for the White House? Something along those lines.

But I don't believe that in that NY district Palin's endorsement of Hoffman translates to a Hoffman win on grounds that she endorsed him. There are a lot of Republicans who will not cross party lines, no matter what, to vote blue, and Hoffman would be the only other viable choice they'd have, given who they are.

I would expect Palin to crow loudly if Hoffman wins tomorrow.

5. Frank Rich's column in the NYT was very informative about the
NY23...This Hoffman is dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to being knowledgeable about his areas wants and needs. He's very uninformed and let me be shallow here.....Have you seen a pic of him???? Poster boy for repugs, very nerdy and up tight looking. I know, shallow...

9. He has the "crazy eyes" thing going in every photo and video I have seen. Certainly looks
like a "true believer". Oh well look at it this way, if he wins Michelle Bachmann will have somebody to hang out with in the lunchroom.

6. The 50 state strategy page is still up at the DNC website
But is it still up and running in all 50 states? What are we doing to win in '10?
