LANCE CPL. DAVID RAYMOND BAKER, age 22, passed away October 20, 2009, in Helmand Province of southern Afghanistan. On Saturday, October 31st, David's family will be mourning the loss and paying tribute to his bravery with a funeral in Painesville. The Westboro Baptist Church from Kansas, however, has decided to protest this fallen soldier's funeral. In honor of David, 100.7 WMMS will be playing his favorite song, "Chicken Fried" by Zac Brown Band from 10:30AM to 12:00PM on Saturday, commercial-free.

We are asking all of you to pay tribute to David and ALL of our fallen soliders by calling:

This message can be about a loved one, an opinion about the protestors, a special message for David and his family, or simply to show support for our men and women in the special forces. Your messages will be played on the air during our commercial-free 90 minutes of "Chicken Fried."

From 10:30AM to 12:00PM tomorrow, drive by Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville with your radio tuned to 100.7 WMMS. Turn it up as LOUDLY as you can to drown out these protestors and pay tribute to David's bravery, and truly show his family your appreciation for their fallen hero.

Edit to add I can't believe the ignorance of the commenters. They all think Westboro is protesting the war somehow.

Wonder what they'd think if they knew they were gay-bashing. Would they still refuse to support them...or start supporting them? Anyways, people in Cleveland should be leaving comments everywhere clarifying Phelps agenda. That he is percieved as a 'war protester' is more than a little damaging to real protesters.

My problem would be getting there, now that Laketran doesn't run on Saturdays anymore. It really stinks, because with a car I could be there in 20 minutes.
