Michael Moore's message to the small-minded fucks
Congratulations President Obama on the Nobel Peace Prize -- Now Please Earn it!

P.S. Your opposition has spent the morning attacking you for bringing such good will to this country. Why do they hate America so much? I get the feeling that if you found the cure for cancer this afternoon they'd be denouncing you for destroying free enterprise because cancer centers would have to close. There are those who say you've done nothing yet to deserve this award. As far as I'm concerned, the very fact that you've offered to walk into the minefield of hate and try to undo the irreparable damage the last president did is not only appreciated by me and millions of others, it is also an act of true bravery. That's why you got the prize. The whole world is depending on the U.S. -- and you -- to literally save this planet. Let's not let them down.

A message to the nasty, mean spirited and small-minded fucks!

31. Thank you, Michael Moore and Pro Sense for
bringing this on board. This is how I feel and Michael puts it so well.

I think we can put this baby to rest now. I plan to bring out Michael Moore's proclamation anytime it's warranted.

And, this is President Barack Obama's message on winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

Cha --

This morning, Michelle and I awoke to some surprising and humbling news. At 6 a.m., we received word that I'd been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.

To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who've been honored by this prize -- men and women who've inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.

But I also know that throughout history the Nobel Peace Prize has not just been used to honor specific achievement; it's also been used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes.

That is why I've said that I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations and all peoples to confront the common challenges of the 21st century. These challenges won't all be met during my presidency, or even my lifetime. But I know these challenges can be met so long as it's recognized that they will not be met by one person or one nation alone.

This award -- and the call to action that comes with it -- does not belong simply to me or my administration; it belongs to all people around the world who have fought for justice and for peace. And most of all, it belongs to you, the men and women of America, who have dared to hope and have worked so hard to make our world a little better.

So today we humbly recommit to the important work that we've begun together. I'm grateful that you've stood with me thus far, and I'm honored to continue our vital work in the years to come.

Thank you,

President Barack Obama

33. Moore also told Obama to get the hell out of Afghanistan or GIVE THE PRIZE BACK.
Quotes from Moore's Letter:

"You have to end our involvement in Afghanistan now. If you don't, you'll have no choice but to return the prize to Oslo."

"That's why you got the prize. The whole world is depending on the U.S. -- and you -- to literally save this planet. Let's not let them down."

Sorry to tell ya, but you can't pick and choose what Moore actually said.

37. Moore, and
everyone else who voted for Obama know that he had no intention of getting out of Afghanistan. To sit and harp on it is pathetic.

If Obama packs up and leaves now do you, Moore, the haters or anyone else think the killing of innocent women and children will end? Sorry to tell you, but it won't, it will only get worse.

45. So if Obama has no plans to get out of Afghanistan-then he does NOT deserve a prize for peace.
Edited on Sat Oct-10-09 01:21 PM by earth mom
FYI-those afghan women and children will be killed either way.

Why put U.S. troops on the line too?

As Michael Moore stated in his letter:

"BUT YOU CANNOT DO THAT WITH TANKS AND TROOPS. You are pursuing a criminal, not an army. You do not use a stick of dynamite to get rid of a mouse.

The Taliban is another matter. That is a problem for the people of Afghanistan to resolve -- just as we did in 1776, the French did in 1789, the Cubans did in 1959, the Nicaraguans did in 1979 and the people of East Berlin did in 1989. One thing is certain through all revolutions by people who wish to be free -- they ultimately have to bring about that freedom themselves. Others can be supportive, but freedom can not be delivered from the front seat of someone else's Humvee."

p.s. The kind of logic you use is what * & Co used to spew. Why am I hearing it on DU now? :wtf:

49. Take your
case to those who give out the award. Obama never pretended that he was going to leave Afghanistan yet they still presented him with the prize.

BTW, I'm nothing like George W. Bush so please don't compare me to him.

You on the other hand sound just like those on the right with their lame ass bullshit as to why Obama doesn't deserve the award.

I said this prize was premature, I retract that. I think the Nobel committee was looking at the tea baggers on television and getting a load of some of our hate jockeys and decided that Obama deserved a Nobel Peace prize.

And the crazies have been proving the point by what they have been saying and doing since.

Sorry.
