I posted this before but since asshole wilson's outburst, it is more timely.
No more excuses and giving them the benefit of the doubt. It's time we call them all OUT!!!!

1. Yes, wilson needed to be censured but if
certain Dems had their way..he would have gotten away with it.

5. I don't get the voting on it thing...
Does anyone get to vote on arrest when one of "We The People" break a rule/law? No.

There are rules, and there are sanctions... there are crimes, and there are punishments...

Those "certain" Dems need a reality check... I'm so sick of this bull!

3. Great! They passed health care with a strong public option and now can do things like censor!
Oh wait - they haven't accomplished anything yet that helps working Americans....

7. Yes, let's continue to let Democrats act as doormats and set precedents for rule-breaking.
That will make it so much EASIER for them to pass legislation! How about next time the President addresses the chamber, they can throw their shoes at him! Oh, but we could just let that slide too because "there are more important things to do." There were more important things to do when everyone was clamoring to impeach Bush too.

It's amazing how easily some Democrats who will roll over for these pigs that when they FINALLY exercise their power to take control of a situation, they're lambasted as "wasting time." No one in our history as a nation has EVER done this to a sitting President, and you want us to just let it slide? My god.

12. Censure
You right.. this censure solved that, because now Wilson has to apolog.... no, he doesnt have to.. well, he cant vote on issues now for.... well, he can do that too.. ok, he cant talk to the press and use this to play to his base.... wait he can do that to.. so what exactly did this censure accomplish??

15. It's a procedural method of formally disciplining someone.
And admonishing them. Again, part of the rules, which many people here seem to give fuck all about. Why bother getting angry at what Wilson did if you don't want Congress to recognize it and act accordingly?

I think some people like to bitch for the sake of bitching.

22. Apologizing
Him apologizing and having to eat crow with the president was good enough for me.. but now he gets his chance to tell the rest of Congress to f#@@ off when they ask to apologize to him, and they can do nothing to him but tell him he has been a bad boy.. he doesnt even have to go sit in the corner or anything. I am all for rules and penalties, but there is no penalty, he can wear this like a badge of honor with his constituents.. Before, he was the guy who had to apologize to the president and walk away with his tail between his legs... something that made his supporters spit nails.. now he saved face with his base.

24. Before the midnight hour of Obama's speech
wilson was saying fuck you. As a black woman, I agree with Congressman Clyburn, we got to nip that shit in the bud.

Yeah I wish it would have been harsher, but hell when you have liberals like Kucinich not signing on, can you imagine how many would have said nay if the punishment was harsher.

I've been watching the news channels tonight and you still have journalists and pundits (progressives) still afraid to say that a lot of the opposition to Obama is his race. They are still trying to excuse the signs, protests, and the political support as a fringe. It is not a fringe. The fringe are the republicans who has the sense not to associate with the filth at the townhalls and teabag parties.

13. I disagree with the video.
I tried to have that conversation with an old college friend, focusing just on what he said, and he has never forgiven me for calling him a racist.

They aren't two different conversations--there is only one, and everyone in the conversation knows it.

20. Racists are not reasonable
but you need to call a spade a spade and not overlook, excuse, or ignor it the words.

21. Grr. Can you post what the link is about?
Some of us are on dialup (yes, some of us are rural farmers without access to cable, DSL or reliable satellite). I know that seems absolutely archaic, and I agree it is. But there it is. Some DUers can't open a youtube video without risking major telephone overload, or computer crash.

Depending on the content and size, it could take me more than 2 hours to download this video, and it still might crash when it played.

PLEASE! an open plea! If you post a link to a youtube video, at least explain what's in it in the OP. I don't go to the video forum cause I know it's gonna contain shit I can't open. But here in GD or GDP?? Post a description so everyone can play along.

PSA ...

23. Blogger commenting on racists
especially the undercover ones that we come in contact with. He states we need to call them out on what they say and not allow them to tell us what they are.
Good example was, treat racists like a thief who stole your wallet. Your purpose is to get your wallet, not ask him/her what was in their heart when they stole your wallet. When you do that you have lost the battle because it allows them an out and a cover.
Another example he gave was when a politician says something racist. Call him on it. Don't ask him what he meant because he will never admit what he said was racist. It will allow his friends and comrades to come to his defense and say, I've known him for years and I know what is in his heart.

That's basically it in a nutshell. He just says it so much better.
