Nightline: 'Dr says I think Health Care Reform will draw MORE dedicated
doctors into serving'. In short, doctors, in it for the patients over the $$s, think the most concerned and committed are NOT the same as those in it for the money. And reform will allow them to grow and do more.
I happen to know a few young doctors, and most have went into specialties for the money. Of course, they are also saddled with huge student loans. HC reform can't ignore this issue.
2. I agree. There have already been a few articles published where doctors got out of the medical
profession because they saw people spending too much time worrying about insurance reimbursements, private insurance denying coverage of procedures, and overall pressure to do the bare minimum. All that instead of what was best for the patient.
3. I agree. Drs. these days seem almost disappointed that I'm not ill or don't
have a chronic condition. Seriously.
Dr. kept repeating to me what I'd filled in on form - that I don't take any medication (I'm middle aged). "You don't take any medication?" I say no. "You don't take ANY medication?!?" "Uh, no." I guess he's seeing the hope of dollars fly out the window.
