Why do we give the assholes so much attention.....
when the President's speech was quite grand?

Shining object will once again erase the speech out of our minds?
Wish it wasn't so.

1. Some people can divide attention among numerous things.
Some can't.

4. So then apple cobbler recipes belong on GD and GD:Politics?
Because they have more relevance to thoughtful political discourse than anything related to folks like Beck, Limbaugh, and that jackass who heckled the President. If the ability to divide attention among numerous things opens the door for discussion of the inane, it only seems appropriate to post recipes.

2. No, no, no, Frenchie! It's like family coming together to defend and protect one of their own!
Obama's speech is already on YouTube and will be played again and again, with memorable lines repeated again and again!

We have to get it out of our systems.

6. Yes, ignore a rabid lunatic who begs to be used as poster idiot for the the Repub opposition.
Plus, it is dangerous to hold two thoughts in the mind at once.

8. Yup, exactly. The media will turn it into a "right to free speech" debate
Anything to deflect from the real debate.

12. In this case, because he deserves to have the light of shame shined
upon him and his entire party. This is one diss that shoudl not be ignored. It was beyond the pale, and a reflection of the entire Republican party.
