Whaaaaa?? Bush within 5% in NY??????
Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 09:53 AM by GOPBasher
This is crazy. It's 49% - 44% for Kerry in NY. If we don't win NY by 25%, we're done for this election. I'm sure we're still going to win, but the fact that it's this close spells trouble for us. And if NY doesn't remain very, very strongly democratic for a long time, I'm very worried about our future prospects as a party. We need NY to be the bluest of the blue states. Someone, please make me feel better! Tell me this poll is bullshit and show evidence. Please! I'm begging you! :scared:

6. Without seeing the sampling
it's worthless. What are the precentages of R's and D's? What are the samplings by age groups?

8. Same exact thing they tried to say in Illinois.
Last week they had a poll with Kerry at 48% and the chimp at 44 or 45%. Total bullshit. There's no way they are that close. I see these polls as a set up to steal the election. If he steals it in a state he wasn't expected to win like CA., IL. or NY....who's the wiser? The polls SAID it was a "close" race. We've seen CALIFORNIA polls that have just about the same numbers. It's bullshit. It's a set up. IMCPO

10. Right, But It's Tied In Colorada and Close In SC...
The polls are purposely confusing this year. It's called muddying the waters to set up for stealing the election through rigged machines.

No way he's that close in NY and not blowing Kerry away in CO and SC...It makes no sense...

12. I don't think so
I think most of their methodologies aren't accounting for the unusual nature of this election. IE, one where a good portion of the electorate has been dead set against Bush for years.

I spoke to someone I met in a bar last night - asked "Are you following the election?"

A: "No, not really, it's sick."

Her answer was because she despised Bush, but giving that answer would eliminate her from being included in many odf the polls we're seeing.

Ironically, I think FOX is one of the only pollseters who are using methodology that accounts for the "ABB" phenomena.

11. Quinnipac
... had Kerry 6 points up ... but it's reasonable to think it's an outlier.

This would be evidence it's an outlier as well.

Forty-seven percent (47%) of New Yorkers now Approve of the President's Job Performance. That's a six-point increase since our last survey in the state.

15. Well, what about the damned METHODOLOGY?
I really wish people would stop posting numbers - without any mention of who did the poll, how big the sample was, how the poll was conducted, et cetera - and then driving people into a panic with "Oh God, we're doomed" bullshit.

Awfully sorry to be rude, but if you don't know anything beyond the basic numbers, keep your damned trap shut. Thanks. :D
