If cap & trade goes through, I will lay off 10 dem employees & hire others in their place who aren't part of the useful idiots... I have 20, most of the dem UI's aren't that great anyhow...

I hope every con who can will do the same...

47. Tradesmen call their vendors "suppliers." They pick up their
"supplies" at the "supply house."

As to "firing" half his employees, ten persons, that is going to be quite a jump in his SUI. If ten employees start collecting unemployment, his rate could go from a low of .32% to 3.9%. That is from $.32 per hundred to $3.90. That doesn't sound like much, but it all adds up.

I puruse the Hannity Boards weekly.. (easier to read then the Freeper Board, but the same tone & attitude) when I want to figure out how the GOP freaks are spinning things. This guy has been going on for weeks about it...

Frankly if he's paying more to use different suppliers that aren't democrat - then let him make less profit. Idiot.

PArt of the Republican delusion that they are magically knowledgable on all things economic and business because of party affiliation. Most of them can't see the forest for the trees.

You don't fire people because of political affiliation. Poor reasoning and even poorer management. If he makes business decisions on such reasonsing he will not be in business long.

The local FReeptard in my office (yes we actually have a few at Amtrak...can you say "I vote 'ginst my own self interests.") may be incredibly uninformed but he does produce.

66. We do actually... plus we encouraged people to "Buy Blue".
It was viewed as supporting "progressive causes".

If a business owner wants to re-align and go with their values, then it's up to them. I feel the person who posted on the Hannity site as quoted in the OP may be just posting for fun, but still... it is the business owners right to do this. I wish we knew what the business name was, locations, etc...

It's the same with any other cause, really. I refuse to purchase eggs from hens that were raised in cramped little cages fighting for space with other hens. As a result, I pay more. Not a good business decision if I'm running a restaurant because those caged hen eggs are surely cheaper, but it's the "right decision" for me.

Google "Amanda Chapel" sometime. Of course, she was created by the captains of the PR industry in response to a perceived threat to that industry. I remember a similar "I'm going to fire a bunch of Democrats" post by some freeper before Obama got elected, so I'm sure he's just a fighting keyboardist looking for more attention.

Actually meant:

Poster said:

Actually meant:

and the checks always fall short. My son is disabled and yes this mom helps him out every time. I know you meant it to be funny but it's not for the many disabled who have to survive on a little over $800 a month.
Right now in California many disabled are being cut back drastically on their medical and will not be able to get medication that is life sustaining, so it is not that funny to some of us.

59. Assuming you can prove it
most businesses wouldn't bother with this because it's expensive and it's a pain in the ass to fire someone with any skills and then train up a replacement

And there's a ton of paperwork to show exactly why someone was let go, so that you are protected from the eventual law suits.

Small enough companies can get away with it, because they're exempt from a lot of the anti-discrimination laws.

- This should have a reference and I don't have one. I'm basing that last comment on personal experience and conversations with attorneys a few years ago. I think Title VII sets it at less than 15 employees.

Let me get this straight. At your pretend business you decided to stick it to two pretend suppliers (who presumably don't pretend to employ some Republicans) because the Minnesota Supreme Court (composed of some real Republicans) ruled that Al Franken should be seated as Senator? Why not punch the ocean the next time a cap-and-trade cap bill gets passed? My God, the lunacy on these boards.

64. what about profit maximization, the free market mantra?
According to neoclassical economists such as Gary Becker, the conservative hero, no one would ever fire a worker for any reason other than they were less productive than an alternative. Any employer who discriminated on the basis of politics would quickly be driven out of business because his/her competitors would hire the most productive workers regardless of politics and because of the high productivity relative to costs, would be able to sell more products at lower cost than the discriminator.

Why does this "Republican" hate capitalism?

65. I took the homes and life savings from 10's of thousands of cons today...
Oh, wait, they did that to themselves, I didn't have to have a thing to do with it...

69. How did Franken "steal" the election?
with all of the counts, recounts, court challenges, etc? Yeah, I know how amenable people like THAT are to reason but still......? Coleman dragged out everything as long as he could and Franken stuck in there patiently and allowed the process- the law- to work itself out until they came to the end of the road, the courts ruled against Coleman, Coleman ultimately came to his senses and conceded. If Franken *stole* the seat, he did a damned good job of paying off all those election officials, judges, etc. involved in the proceedings. :eyes:

As far as this a**hole is concerned, I wonder how many Democrats fired their Republican employees after Bush/Cheney stole the Presidency in 2000?
