9. This is the very reason that polls are complete bullshit.
DU this poll, unfreep that poll, what the fuck? I don't understand why anyone would even care. Especially someone like you, who is smart enough and well placed enough so as to be invited on TV to express your opinion.

I'm sorry, I don't care what a facebook poll says about Obama or anyone else.

11. Because Perception is Reality and polls like this have an effect on
how people think. It's the bandwagon effect. A lot of people will see this poll and think opinion is turning against Obama.

12. Tell me again how many people view facebook every day?
And why I should give a bleep what they think? Regardless, actions like this render ALL polls meaningless. Why don't we all just go search out pollsters in malls, shopping centers, and other public places and DU every poll until their results make us all feel warm and fuzzy?

14. Wiki says there are 200 million users WORLDWIDE
I take that to mean 200 million have registered. WORLDWIDE. Are you trying to tell me that 200 million people visit Facebook every day? I know at least 10 people who signed up, and got bored with it in a week. It's a phenomenon that's already played itself out for the most part, just like tweeting on twitter whatever the fuck that means.

Seriously, DU lists over 141,000 registered users. How many of those do you think registered and haven't visited in six months or more?

A Facebook poll? Please Steve, I give you tons more credit than that. Anyone who can give Cavuto as good as he gets has to be too intelligent to believe that a Facebook poll would swing national opinion of Obama's performance.

15. Correct, 200 million worldwide. I never said in the US.
Don't underestimate the popularity, power, or longevity of this tool. It is not a twitter or a myspace. You have to use it for a few months to understand. I have networks of people I had lost touch with for over two decades who I now speak with almost everyday as a result and more are showing up all the time.

16. The bottom line is that I don't "DU" polls. It renders their results meaningless and calls into
question the result of every poll ever conducted.

20. This is the correct answer.
Edited on Sun Jun-07-09 02:38 PM by Adsos Letter
Edited to add: Why does it mean a poll has been "freeped" because a majority disapprove of Obama so far? There have been plenty on this board who have voiced disapproval/disappointment with his actions sofar; I would hardly label them freepers.

I voted "undecided" in that poll last week, and I'm not a freeper. I just have some of the same disappointments others do on this board, and I am withholding my judgement until we get a bit further down the road.

22. I signed up for an account
A few moth's ago my cousin sent it to me & I signed up for an account that I've used maybe twice. I just didn't find all the interest that so many people seem to have in it.

8. Do you always react to requests to unfreep polls this way
OK, is it because it is facebook, or you just dont like "unfreep this poll" requests?

Has something changed? We've always done stuff like this around here.

Facebook is mostly adult, btw. I'm ambivalent about it but it is a way to find people and network.
