Poll question: Is it probable that the president wants a prosecutor to see the photos & not the world
and, therefore, is playing this just as he needs to so that he won't be seen as trying to personally 'take down' the previous mis-administration?

I am not happy with plenty, from the wars continuing, DADT, investment corporations being given billions, but I keep coming back to the fact this guy (the president of the United States) knows what he's dealing with, and specifically who he's dealing with and has to play a strange game of chess for reasons we really don't want to think about.

DO YOU THINK HE'S DOING THIS?

OR DO YOU THINK HE'S MOSTLY TALK BUT A LOT OF THE SAME OLD?

OR ANOTHER ENTIRELY DIFFERENT IDEA?

8. Pelosi is only a distraction. Congress, IMHO, has circled its wagons
around its colleagues, the RW obstructionists. They are scared. All those tea bagging, trailer hitch Jesus types are going to be mighty angry once they realize they have been used and they are the ones with the guns. Those neo-con fools are in trouble and I really don't know why our side is protecting them, except maybe, but for the grace of God, there goes them.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. They are fearful.

2. The world has already seen the pictures from what I understand.
It's the last bastion of the flag waving, tea bagging Americans that they don't want to see them because these are the guys with guns and Jesus and they are dangerous. If they find out that they have been betrayed, watch out!

5. yeah, we see how crazy they get! I don't think the world has seen this pics that the US govt has
the other photos that are from Abu Ghraib (I thought) are shown repeatedly around the world, but not here nearly ever. But the others are in the guarded room in a Washington DC govt facility I've read.

7. hey Cha! yeah, this has me extremely interested (thus my post) & I want answers
and I hope I get them. He eventually will answer what he's doing, but maybe it's not going to be known for a year or more. I don't like him appeasing the right-wing just to keep from displeasing them on other issues. They lost big, I don't care what they want when it comes to the war being dragged out and Gay people not being given equal rights, or - full research into curing diseases and such.

11. Hey, I don't think it has
a friggin thing to do with appeasing the rw..that's not how Prez Obama rolls.

Obama got elected when our country was on the precipice of the abyss and he and his team are doing everything they can to get their ducks in a row.

We need patience. I'm learning.

4. I have no idea why he is doing this...
there could be a myriad of reasons that are not even in my realm of thinking...but a whole shit-load of people have already seen them.

13. Well, Cheney certainly been thumbing his nose at everyone
Edited on Thu May-14-09 10:36 PM by depakid
So he either has a death wish or has a pretty tong belief that he and his minions won't be prosecuted.

Sadly, like Col. col. Wilkerson, I fear that the administration lacks the political fortitude to uphold the law- and thus, Cheney might well be right.

15. It looks like it was a futile attempt to make people think that torture worked.
Asking for the release of classified documents the he claimed showed that we got useful information, while probably knowing his requests would be denied.

14. I have no idea what he's doing or trying to do, so I didn't vote. This stuff is too complex
for a three question poll.
