Have we not yet learned to take first reports with a grain of salt?
We've already seen lots and lots of reports about the Obama administration where people stood up to shout that he was continuing Bush policies, or making things worse. In pretty much every case so far more information came out later explaining that they were holding position pending review, or something similar.

Yeah, like everyone else I'm not happy about the wiretapping thing on first blush. But I recognize that we may not yet know the full story, and I'm holding judgement until we do.

2. Usually three days is a good scale of waiting for me
Gives the truth a chance to come to the top. Wiretapping on any level without a warrant needs to be stopped, and I stand by that. But there is more to this than meets the eye me thinks..

12. That's what's going on here, I think
Any excuse for people to express their 'disappointment' that he's 'just another politician', etc. etc. I don't think he is, but then again I'm not just waiting around for any opportunity to write him off.

10. Perhaps you are right "we may not yet know the full story" and Bush was right all along but, I'll
continue to believe Bush was wrong until Obama discloses all information proving his current decision is not an infringement on our natural, inherent, inalienable/unalienable rights.

11. So there's a PR problem?
We don't yet know the full story?

Has the administration indicated in any way that we don't yet know the full story?

Why wouldn't they have figured that this would greatly concern many Democrats, and packaged it politically if there were another dimension to it?

13. Right. The full story may never be written so that 'people' understand.
Its undoubtedly based on legal technicalities and political considerations that most won't bother trying to understand, even if they have the ability. Either we trust his judgment or we don't, imo.

15. Obama
He has done any number of things that I didn't like, however most of those times it turned out to be the right thing to do. therefore I give him the benefit of the doubt until he screws up something that is important, like EFCA, or health care. He is a centrist after all, and although the Marxist in me is unhappy, at least I'm not as depressed as I was before November. Chill out people, stress is the enemy.

... and that wonderful gentelman with the hair .... what's his name .... anyway, he explained it perfectly well.

The President is screwed either way. It's not an easy, cut and dry decision.

I get it.

Is he home yet? :)

22. Yeah Turley has strange hair.
The thing with Turley is the fact that he has NEVER supported, in the time I've been watching him, anything Pres O has done. I mean not one thing. Every time he opens his mouth it's normally to criticize the O administration so I knew where he stood on many things already. If you bring him on don't expect him to give O any sort of kudos for anything...he'll spin it to negative very quickly.

So yeah...O will always be the bad guy even if more info comes out.

25. But that's just my point...
... he DID defend him saying that he was trying make nice with the CIA folks who he's going to need more than ever as we ramp up things in Afghanistan.

He said he had to choose between offending his early base of supporters, or the folks in the CIA and that he was basically gonna be screwed no matter how he decided.

20. I'm with you and learned to stop shooting from the hip a long time ago... thereby
saving myself from embarassment. I learned the hard way. You no doubt have learned that Obama always gives these controversial issues a few days to bubble and fry. Eventually, he tells the full story and a lot of lynchers wind up with egg on their face.

34. I don't think it's ever smart to jump to conclusions with our lame stream media
I'm willing to wait and see . . . I'm not thrilled with letting any of these fuckers get a pass, but I'm not going to throw the baby out with the bathwater. After the former evil 8 year freak show, my attitude isn't going to be all-or-nothing with this administration.
