MSM is saying AIG is receiving threats against them.
I thought MSM was a news reporting news station? Show the threats or shut-up.

6. The piano wire one? Didn't take it too seriously myself.
Are we supposed to feel sorry for poor little ol' AIG now?

Trying to rob us blind and then playing victim when some are angered.

8. A threat is a threat. And Barney Frank did say if they find out who's
making them, they will be prosecuted. He took it seriously. So did I.

10. Well duh, they'll be prosecuted if they're discovered.
But it was nothing that should engender any sympathy for AIG.
The fat cats are safe.

12. Thank you. I'm noticing a lot of flippancy in some people lately.
This is a serious issue and because your mad doesn't give you the right to threaten someones's life.

14. I don't know that it's "flippancy" people don't react nicely when they're being robbed.
(I'm not saying I condone the threats)

17. And then they could execute the executors?
Either that or someone needs to take a two by four to their head to end this.

18. what amazes me is not the threats. those are to be expected. I
might make one too if my house was threatened to be taken away from me through the evil of another person. What is amazing to me is their surprise that its happening.

he will succeed because Barney Frank has threatened to Subpoena them.

11. The media yelled FIRE in a room,
so I hope they are not acting "shocked" about this.

The Santelli angle didn't work,
but this worked better than they had anticipated, I would guess.

16. The threats were also made against the children of some of the AIG execs.
What the fuck is that all about?

Even those here that are so jaded to not care much about threats against the execs shouldn't be so uncaring regarding threats against the children of those AIG employees.

21. I agree that these threats should be investigated. That said, wouldn't it make sense for AIG to give
the money back so that the names of these people aren't subpoenaed and made public? Notwithstanding the drafting of a bill tomorrow that's going to tax these bonuses 90%, and regardless of who or what is the catalyst that allowed this to happen (or didn't provide enough oversight, or whatever), simply giving the money back seems a no brainer to me.

Clearly, it's not an extreme idea, Liddy has already asked for those who received the biggest bonuses to pay half of it back, and some have come forward independently have given ALL of it back (they may have children and received threats, prompting them to do so).

Even if every penny is returned, the threats should be investigated and if appropriate - prosecuted - whether the names are released or not.

These are bonuses - right? That leads me to assume it's separate from/added to salaries they already receive, so it's not like they'd be giving back their regular earnings... maybe I'm missing something here if this isn't the case.

Speaking of investigation, if these people were paid retention bonuses because they not only threatened to leave but to share proprietary information as well unless the bonuses were coughed up - that's something that should not be ignored either - if it is, in fact, true.

What a mess.

They're going to be forced to give 90% back AND have their names subpoenaed anyway, it looks like - why wouldn't they voluntarily give it back preemptively in order to keep their names private?

goofy...

22. I think every time there is an "outrage" moment in the media, someone gets death threats
That is whether the outrage is big or small. Fair or unfair. There will always be crazies out there, unfortunately. But they should not dictate to us how to deal with a problem.

23. Well, what did you expect when the masses are being whipped into a frenzy
by the media, Congress and our "choking in anger" prez.

Employees are being threated and harassed. The company had to send out a memo to all employees nationwide to be careful. Some ladies are having their husbands and boyfriends escort them to and from work. Employees were told not to wear their badges outside the office, not to wear anything with the AIG logo, to be careful when leaving the bldgs. at dark and to pair up. Not to prop doors open and to check that all windows are locked. There was much more.

Most AIG employees are hard working people who have never seen a bonus (not even at Christmas time). So, some can stuff the damn outrage.
