Who Will Become The REAL Leader Of The GOP?
Edited on Wed Mar-04-09 02:36 PM by WeDidIt
Easy.

The first Republan with the spine to criticize Rush while still refusing to apologize, and to continue doing so, will become the De Facto leader of the Republan Party.

This is the person whom Democrats will have the most problems with because a Republan with spine is a frightening thing indeed.

1. Yeah, but those guys have all defected to the Democratic Party. They
call themselves the Democratic Leadership Council and have taken over the White House.

2. GOP? Rush Limbaugh of course. The LITE version is run by Harold Ford of our illustrious DLC.

4. This is our liberal weakness...
Posts like this. Despite ourselves, we don't want to see Republicans fail. We want to see them put forth interesting and intelligent opinions, we want to see a fruitful exchange of ideas. That's why we have a hard time being like Rahm Emmanuel and hailing Rush as the leader of their party. But its good to remember sort of what's on trial here isn't the idea of healthy debate, its Rush's philosophy of brute force politics. He believes in the method of asserting rightness and charging ahead regardless of facts on the ground, he believes in being a political bull. And the correct response to a bull is not to question its charging. Its a dark ritual to watch, but let Rahm wave his red cape here, let the bull charge until its done. Only when people see the matador's mastery over brute force through intellect and cleverness will they really understand things like the power of diplomacy, only then do we have a chance at getting rid of some of our most stupid policies and wars. So join the crowd!

"Torro! Torro!" :)

5. I agree with you.
The only problem for republicans is that it doesn't seem like there is anyone in their party that has the guts to do that!

Of course that's good for the democrats because it will ensure that they are in charge of things for years and years to come!

6. I don't think anyone wants to lead the Republican party while it's still in blame-taking mode.
As soon as Obama's popularity starts to wane, they'll be knocking each other down for that distinction, but with 2012 so far away and Bush's memory so recent, it's a sucker's job.

7. Very few could do this. Know who could? Sarah Palin
Her base is much the same as Rush's but she has more credibilty and probably higher approval. If she smacked him down he would probably chill. It wouldn't really be good for her to get back in the spotlight righ now though, not over this.

17. No way.
If she went out of line with him, he'd kill her career. All the stuff we already know about her will become byword with his dittoheads. The people that like her, like him more.

10. Please dear (insert name of deity here), please please let the
Republicans choose limpballs as the head of the Republic Party, now that the Chair of the RNC has no credibility.

11. I HOPE THEY FAIL!...........
It's not Michael Steele, he's just for show, Rush is certainly more than happy to step up to the plate but he's not official. I hope they never find a real leader, I hope they are out in the wilderness for a very looooooooong time, with no leader, no ideas, and no direction. I HOPE THEY FAIL!

12. I don't feel any need at all to keep the GOPs healthy and
contributing their good ideas - I have yet to see a Republican "good idea", and I look forward to watching them completely destroy themselves. They are off to a fine start.

14. It ain't gonna be any of the smart Republicans.
The smart ones know they're in the shitter and they're going to stay that way until the American middle class gets enough money back to afford to be complacent, ignorant, provincial, and racist again. It took them twenty years to come back after the last Depression they started.

It's looking like this time may take a little longer than that.
