PA-Sen: Toomey Reconsidering Senate Run
http://www.swingstateproject.com

After withdrawing his name from the 2010 Pennsylvania Senate primary against GOP incumbent Arlen Specter in January, former Rep. Pat Toomey is now reconsidering the race:

Former Congressman Pat Toomey (R, PA-15), current Club for Growth President, just announced on Bobby Gunther Walsh's 1-On-1 Show, WAEB, 790AM, that a Primary challenge to Senator Arlen Specter is "now back on the table."
Mr. Toomey acknowledged that "Senator Specter cast the deciding vote on the very worrisome stimulus Bill, when he could have negotiated with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Obama for more productive tax cuts and less wasteful spending." Pennsylvanians need to do some soul searching about who will really represent us in the Senate.

Hallelujah.

1. So? He'll just lose again. Toomey is daft if he can't see how very much he is misreading PA.

3. Lordy, Lordy that sonuvabitch Specter cast a vote
that might help the common people... and oh my God, he cast a vote that helped the democrats! He must be destroyed.

4. ....
If Toomey beats Specter in the primary I think we would have a better chance of winning.

5. Toomey is a fervent anti choice RW'er who is one of those people
who just looks nuts. I think you are right-if Specter lost the primary, a Dem would beat Toomey easily.

6. Obama won PA by 11%; Santorum was soundly defeated as an incumbent
We should only pray that the conservatives nominate somebody who won't get the labor vote like Spector. It would mean an automatic pick up in the Senate. Pennsylvania is a blue state, and a strong blue state. They cannot get a conservative elected statewide. Don't be fooled (as many on this very board were when McCain supposedly targeted PA specifically) into believing otherwise.

8. You nailed it.
The only thing keeping Specter a Senator is his traditional support for labor. Other than that, he's worthless to the common man. So I'd like to see the wing-nuts take Toomey and we'll crush him in the General.

7. BRING. IT. ON.
That's another seat for us! We'll need it, since one of our best shots at a pickup in the Senate has gone to HHS (Sebelius).
