2. Our new President hit it out of the park tonight

A tired cliche, I know, but watching the speech, I was numb and kinda teary-eyed at the prospect of our country being led by a thoughtful and inspiring person. There have been a few early stumbles, but in 4 years we'll all be better off. Bobby Jindal and his ilk are sinking like stones. :patriot:

3. Lakoff:Obama is seizing the opportunity to frame the "values" discussion himself...

I remember the discussions here a few years ago regarding George Lakoff's brilliant thesis on framing, and how the Republicans had mastered it but the Democrats had not. The American people apparently wanted to talk about "values" and the Democrats kept hitting them with policies and programs. When Hillary Clinton started talking "values" I'm sure it was because of Lakoff.

Obama knows this too and himself has become a master of framing policies and programs in the "values" that make us American.

This is an excellent and heartening read. Recommended.
