Freeper Madness* Obama song calls for overthrow of private property.
From the minds of those who think Palin should be Queen

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I've been looking and I haven't heard this mentioned yet. During the Obamunist coronation ceremony lefties Pete Seeger and Bruce Springsteen were singing "This Land is your Land."

To my utter shock and amazement, they actually brought out a verse that is hardly ever sung in public. This verse openly calls for the overthrow of private property.

Watch from 2:42 on the video, here are the lyrics:

There was a big high wall there that tried to stop me;
Sign was painted, it said private property;
But on the back side it didn't say nothing;
That side was made for you and me.

The crowd and the red chorus in the background gleefully sung along as the communists openly revealed their intentions.

Folks, we are in for a long road ahead.

REPLIES

None of this is shocking. Pete Seeger is a self-described Communist, and he belonged to the party. The other guy is just stupid ~ a mere entertainer into it for the girls, booze and dope.
Still, neither one of them is going to let you share in their bounty except at the point of a gun. That's 'cause they don't really believe in Communism either ~ they just want the power and the girls, booze and dope.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX''

The problem is the President shares in their beliefs.
Can you remember the last time that an inauguration had Communists singing about the destruction of private property rights? I don't even think Klintoon went that far.

That's Most of Washington D.C. at this point. Birds of a feather flock together.

Original WG lyrics. No big surprise. Woody was a well known communist. Pete is handing over to Bruce because his days are numbered.

Bruce will carry the “torch” until he finds another weak-kneed guitar strummer to carry the “message”.....

"Communism doesn't work because people like to own stuff."

My Frank Zappa trumps a Seeger and Springsteen anyday.

Seeger is being his old commie self, but it's always hilarious to hear Springsteen singing this kind of crap. Mr. Blue Collar who is a multimillionaire with multiple houses, at least one of which is (or was) in Beverly Hills...singing about outlawing private property.
I mean, the utter audacity of these people is overwhelming. I would love to interview him live on TV. It wouldn't be Charlie Rose time, you can be sure. (I have respect for some of his oldest music and his live performances and cover versions, so it wouldn't be just bashing.)

Springsteen needs someone to throw this stuff at him and say "Come on, Bruce, what's this crap?" He's never had to answer a hard question from anybody, ever.

And you would expect a logical answer?

Me and Willie the Pimp were checkin’ out the Hot Rats and eatin’ yellow snow when Suzy Creamcheese came by (what’s got into her, anyway?)

But the real question, before the Apostrophe is -

What will you do if the people you knew,
Were the plastic that melted, and the chromium too?

Zappa also said, in reference to Socialism and Communism:

“The first two words a baby learns are “MaMa” and “Mine!”

13. Like the poster said in the reply before mine...
why open up topics that say "Freeper" in the title, then complain about them?

It takes all of two seconds to read the title on the main page and avoid the topic altogether.

If, by some strange Cosmic Mysteriousness, the topic happens to open itself up and forces its victims to read it, it takes another two seconds to hit the "back" button.

I can't see any reason for actually taking the time to read the topic and then bother typing out a snotty reply unless someone is personally paying for bandwidth or something....Is there something we don't know?

7. As usual.....
...their views are so narrow, they cannot be seen by the human eye.

The sign "Private Property" has nothing to do with property ownership, it is about keeping people OFF the property. In England people own lots of property. But, anyone can walk on anyone else's property. This is why farmers have turnstiles. They have fences to keep their cattle in but also have turnstiles to make it possible for people to cross from one field to another.

11. girls, booze and dope
Does Patty know about this?

They are nutters, no doubt, but that was one of the most coherent threads I've ever seen from them. Eh, I think I'm just surprised they even knew it was a Woody Guthrie song.

14. It isn't a BIG Surprise that they don't know their history, Bush has been doing this for decades
Edited on Sat Jan-24-09 06:24 PM by MagickMuffin
It's called Eminent Domain. Bush did this in Arlington, Texas when he wanted a brand new stadium for the Texas Rangers Baseball team.

It was also used against a neighborhood in Hurst, Texas when North East Mall wanted to expand.

The power to take private property for public use by a state, municipality, or private person or corporation authorized to exercise functions of public character, following the payment of just compensation to the owner of that property.

Federal, state, and local governments may take private property through their power of eminent domain or may regulate it by exercising their Police Power. The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution requires the government to provide just compensation to the owner of the private property to be taken. A variety of property rights are subject to eminent domain, such as air, water, and land rights. The government takes private property through condemnation proceedings. Throughout these proceedings, the property owner has the right of due process.

Eminent domain is a challenging area for the courts, which have struggled with the question of whether the regulation of property, rather than its acquisition, is a taking requiring just compensation. In addition, private property owners have begun to initiate actions against the government in a kind of proceeding called inverse condemnation.

Edit: typo
