5. I watched the special on history channel about Dr. King.
I dislike Brokaw but he did a really good job on it. Talked to King's son, it was very moving to hear his experience of feeling fear when he went out anywhere with his father. King died 7 years before I was born but his message resonates for even my own children. My daughter watched some of the special with me and had a lot of questions to ask. "Mommy, why are these people hurting other people?" Hard to explain racism to a child who does not even think about people who look different then her.
