No, I don't care about the expense of the inauguration. It won't change anything, and not one person would be helped if it were cancelled. I don't begrudge people celebrating. Ceremony is something humans seem to have a deep need for. But I'm ready for the Obama administration to begin and for the administration and Congress to get to work on the enormous problems facing the country. And I confess, I'm a bit weary of the trivial and the American Idol atmosphere. I'm eager to see what unfolds once Obama is in office.

I can't fully relax until Barack is officially our President and Bush shipped back to Texas. I am certainly looking forward to the inauguruation and the celebration is definitely more than justified... but I'm much more excited about actually getting him in office and beginning to undo all that has been done to our country.
