Regardless of how you might spell it,
Obama's got no way to sell it
Now, with egg on his face,
He's offended his base
By picking a bigoted zealot.

1. A second lame effort
His progressive supporters still shaken,
By the path that Obama has taken
By choosing the worst
Of the worst to speak first;
They wonder who'll next be forsaken.

2. I truly suck at limericks, but here goes (cringe-worthy alert)
Edited on Mon Dec-22-08 07:40 PM by liberalmuse
There once was a man named Cheney,
Who was more than a little insaney,
How he loved 9/11,
Shot his wad straight to heaven,
In the end all he'll be is a stainey.

4. Love it!
I was hoping for something more Warren-related, but I'm always happy to see some Cheney-bashing!

:applause:

12. Uh, what?
I've got plenty of things on my mind, but I figured that Warren limericks would be more entertainingly topical.

YMMV, though.

3. A third lame effort
His selection just couldn't be dumber;
Better choices abound without number!
But he picked this guy Rick,
Who's a bigoted prick--
Why? Couldn't he find Joe the Plumber?

5. ...ok...
"On the breasts of a barmaid from Sale,
were tattooed all the prices of ale,
and on her behind,
for the sake of the blind,
was the same information but in braille."

Sorry...it's the only one I can ever remember... :hide:

6. clear favorite for worst limerick

Blathering with a big fat grin
he accused others of sin
But his theology is odd,
And he will find out from God
only condemnation did he win.

9. There once was a fellow called Brown
Who looked at the world with a frown:
"If I call an election,
I may face a rejection.
The economy's all tumbling down!"

There once was a fellow called Bush
Who gave his land a rightward push.
He just loved to start wars.
I wish he'd move to Mars,
Or at least would just go home and shush!

10. This thread should have been titled 'insult Obama in verse' :P

However, I love a clever limerick, regardless of content. So here goes...

Hey look, there's a fat tub of goo,
And he's got a message for you:
"If you are a gay,
Please go away
And - OH SHIT I'VE BEEN HIT BY A SHOE!"

Has most of DU a'sparrin,

13. This may not be what you want but it is appropriate.
There once was ap poster on DU
That thought he certainly knew
That in every post that he read
was a bigoted homophobic thread
pelting the gays with a shoe.

There once was a president elect
That really stuck out his neck
And invited them in
despite all their sin
To prevent a calamitous wreck.

But no one seemed to care
That people are human everywhere
themselves did they say
that we just get in the way
of the anger they just want to share
