NYT: Obama’s Intervention Indirectly Led to Case (Great Story For Obama!)
In a sequence of events that neatly captures the contradictions of Barack Obama’s rise through Illinois politics, a phone call he made three months ago to urge passage of a state ethics bill indirectly contributed to the downfall of a fellow Democrat he twice supported, Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich.

Mr. Obama placed the call to his political mentor, Emil Jones Jr., president of the Illinois Senate. Mr. Jones was a critic of the legislation, which sought to curb the influence of money in politics, as was Mr. Blagojevich, who had vetoed it. But after the call from Mr. Obama, the Senate overrode the veto, prompting the governor to press state contractors for campaign contributions before the law’s restrictions could take effect on Jan. 1, prosecutors say.

4. Bush Co.
I'm probably being too optimistic, but maybe this shows that Obama might go after Bush and company after all. With the Blagojevich deal he has shown he won't accept corruption from people in his own party. This impartiality will only help him if he decides to purse the Bush crimes.

10. Add Blago to the long list of people who simply didn't listen...
.... to what Barack has said all along.

I mean, the guy knows Our President a LOT better than I do but even *I* know Obama wasn't gonna play. Was Blago not listening all along when Barack said there would be no room for folks trying to buy their way into his administration? Did he have his fingers in his hears when Barack said it over and over and over and over again?

To quote Joe's granddaughter .... "HELLO!!!!!" lol

And that begs the question, is Blago also upset because Barack hasn't appointed more progressives to his cabinet? :)
